Fundraising activities you can do from home

Where's Waldy's 26.2 Challenge
Whether you're sporty, arty, crafty or just fancy taking on a new challenge or goal, there are so many ways you can raise funds and improve the lives of people affected by Waldenstrom's macroglobulinaemia.

Your support during these challenging times means so much to us, and we’re here to help however you choose to fundraise for WMUK. With government guidelines in mind, we’ve put together a few suggestions of ways you can stay safe, have fun and raise funds for people affected by WM.

Remember to get in touch to let us know what you’re up to – we’d love to hear all about it!

Get active

Mass participation events might have been cancelled for the time being, but you can still enjoy exercise at a reasonable distance from others. Perhaps you could challenge yourself to run a certain distance within a month, or take a leaf out of Ed and Andrea’s book and see what challenges you can do in the safety of your own back garden.

Looking for something bigger? Then there’s always challenges like the JOGLE – take a look at our daring R4AR team, who rode the length of the UK from John O’Groats to Land’s End!

Set up a JustGiving page, and be sure to share via email and on social media so all your friends and family know what you’re doing and why.

Don’t forget to get in touch with us to get a WMUK T-shirt to wear during your challenge!

Get quizzing

Miss your pub quiz? Why not hold your own, virtual one?

With access to platforms such as Zoom, it’s really easy to video call your friends and family and host a quiz online. You could even hold an after-hours quiz with colleagues!

Simply open up a JustGiving page, and ask for donations in exchange for taking part. The quiz can be whatever format you like, but we recommend about eight round of 5-10 questions each. Our favourite rounds include picture (like name the celebrity), sports and geography.

Remember we’re here to support you, so get in touch for advice and tips.

Get creative

Do you like arts and crafts? Why not use your talents to raise money? From card-making, to knitting to wood crafting, you can sell your products in return for a donation. Just get people to your online giving page. This is also a fantastic activity to involve children with!

If you need more inspiration, give us call or send an email – we’re here to help.

Give in celebration

Mark a milestone by helping to support people with WM. If you have a special occasion – birthday, wedding or anniversary, for example – you can set up a giving page to collect donations in lieu of gifts or cards.
