Fundraising activities you can do from home

Where's Waldy's 26.2 Challenge
There are still plenty of ways you can help WMUK raise funds during these challenging times, but if you're feeling stuck for ideas, we've put together a few suggestions to hopefully get you started:

Host a virtual quiz

Just because the pubs are closed doesn’t mean you have to miss out on a pub quiz! With free to access platforms such as Zoom it's really easy to video call your friends and host a quiz online.

Start by being the quiz master and hosting once a week, aim for 8 categories and 5-10 questions in each. Set up a JustGiving page and invite family and friends to donate to WMUK to take part. You can suggest a donation amount or ask people to donate what they think the quiz is worth.

Donations made on JustGiving will come straight to the charity.

Bake or cook a new recipe

Fancy cooking something a bit different? Now is the perfect time to experiment with new recipes for the whole family and neighbours. You could do this virtually through Facebook Live, asking people to cook along with you and ask for a donation in exchange for your cooking tips.

Get creative

Do you like getting creative? Use this time to create gifts, it can be anything from cards to knitted, sewing or wood crafts. You can sell these to friends and family and even sell them online with proceeds going towards your fundraising target.

Get active

The government is allowing outdoor exercise at a reasonable distance from others so you can still run and exercise outside and in the garden. Make sure to talk about it on your social media and use your fundraising page to log your runs through fitness apps such as Strava.

You can also get innovative and think about what you can use at home. How about seeing how many times a day you can run up and down the stairs? Attempt the squat or plank challenge, or if you're feeling inspired by our R4AR Jogle 2020 team, why not attempt your own virtual JOGLE? There are so many things you can do!

Give in celebration

Raise money celebrating a special occasion. Dedicate your birthday, wedding or other special occasion to WMUK, or mark a milestone in your life. Set up a special celebration fundraising page and ask for donations.
