Whatever you're facing, we're here to help.

Our support team who have specialist knowledge in blood cancer are here to answer your questions, offer practical advice, and provide emotional support whenever you need it.
There are lots of reasons people reach out — and no question or concern is too big or too small. Here are just some of the situations we can help with:

  • Just been diagnosed and want clear, reliable information about WM
  • Feeling isolated and need to talk to someone who understands
  • Offered treatment and want to talk through your options
  • Struggling emotionally — with anxiety, low mood, or just feeling overwhelmed
  • Noticing symptoms and aren’t sure what they mean or what to do next
  • You’re a friend, family member, or carer who wants to better understand WM or needs support yourself
  • Are looking for additional support around benefits and financial support or services for families and carers.

Whatever your reason, we're here to listen and help. You don’t have to go through this alone.

Talking to you about WM made me feel less isolated knowing that I can get back to you.

Questions you may have:

Yes, there is no cost calling the WM Support line within the UK. If you are calling outside of the UK, charges may apply. There is no charge for emailing us, no matter your location in the world.

Our experienced Support Team can offer up-to-date information and advice on diagnosis, treatment and management of Waldenstrom’s macroglobulinaemia. However, they cannot replace the individual medical advice you are given by your healthcare team.

We are here to support you, and our nurses can provide emotional support to anyone who calls, including signposting to mental-health organisations and services for more in-depth and specialist support.

The WMUK Support Line is not an emergency helpline, and if you or someone you are with are in a medical or mental health emergency, you should call the NHS emergency service on 111.

The Line is there for anyone affected by Waldenstrom’s macroglobulinaemia – patients in any stage of the WM journey, family members, friends, carers, or employers. If you have questions about WM or need a listening ear, then we’re here for you.

The WMUK Support Line is a confidential service and we will not share your details or the content of any conversation with third parties. The only exception to this is when doing so is needed in order to comply with the nurses’ code of professional conduct, or the law.

Examples when it would be necessary for us to share your details is when anyone reports serious self-harm, a child is deemed at risk, or when someone expresses the intention of harming someone else. You can find the full policy for the WMUK Support Line here.

We’re here for you, however long you need us to be there. The only limits on the Support Line are our opening hours. There is no limit on the length of the calls, or how many times you call or email us.

We take your confidentiality and privacy seriously. For more information on how we store your data and keep the line confidential, please find our Confidentiality Policy and Support Line Information and Data Protection Policy. Read our Confidentiality Policy and our Data Protection Policy.

Your privacy matters to us.
