WMUK Regional Patient Summit
Birmingham, England

Woman at Patient Summmit for Waldenstrom’s macroglobulinaemi

We’re hosting our WM Patient Summit in Birmingham, England this November

We can’t wait to welcome you to Birmingham this November. This summit is a chance to learn together, share experiences, support one another, and shape the future of care for people living with WM.

We’re still finalising the agenda, but we’re thrilled to confirm some of the experts who will be joining us:

  • Dr Neil Phillips, Consultant Haematologist at UHNM

  • Charlotte Bloodworth, Lead Haematology Clinical Nurse Specialist at Hywel Dda University Health Board

  • Chrissie Kirby, Haematology Clinical Nurse Specialist at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Together, they’ll be exploring topics that matter most to you, including:

  • The WM Landscape – Gain real clarity about WM diagnosis, care and treatment so you can walk into appointments feeling informed and confident. We’ll make the science and medical updates relatable to your everyday experience of WM.

  • Living Well With WM – This session will help you feel confident in managing both your mental and physical health on a day-to-day basis. You’ll get practical tips on how to monitor your symptoms and changes in your health so you can advocate effectively for yourself.

  • Understanding Clinical Trials – We’ll demystify clinical trials through open conversations with both patients and clinicians. You’ll get a transparent view of the process, the support available, and how you can play a role in shaping the future of treatment. There’ll also be an opportunity to let us know what we can do better to inform and involve you in the clinical trial process.

  • Advancing Care – Change is happening, and communities like ours are driving it. Hear from other patient groups who are already collaborating to gather data and improve access to care, and learn about exciting opportunities for our community to do the same. WMUK will also share important updates and ways you can get involved.

But it’s not just about learning. There’ll be plenty of time to chat with our experts, meet the WMUK team, and connect with fellow WMers who truly understand what you’re going through. You’ll also be able to explore the support offered by fantastic local organisations, including Citizen’s Advice Bureau, Prostate Cancer Research, Penny Brohn UK, Move Charity, and Happiness Hub.

This is your day to gain knowledge, ask questions, build confidence, and make meaningful connections that will last well beyond the event.
