Spring Well-Being: A Fresh Start for Mind, Body and Home

WMUK Wordsearch on a kitchen table

Spring is the perfect time to pause, reset and make space for simple moments of wellbeing each day to help you feel refreshed in mind, body and home.

FOR THE MIND

Take a mindful moment

A few minutes of quiet breathing or meditation each day can help to reduce stress. We offer monthly Yoga and Relaxation sessions, kindly hosted by Sue, which are available to book via our website: Yoga and relaxation with Sue – WMUK

Try a brain dump

Mental clutter can leave you feeling very overwhelmed. The simplest way to clear your mind is to offload your thoughts onto paper.

Let go of negativity

Write down worries or frustrations that are wearing you down, then tear it up, put it in a ball or throw it in the bin for meaningful fresh start.

Keep a journal

Journalling can help you reflect, process emotions and notice progress. Write, doodle or simply note how you’re feeling.

FOR THE BODY

Enjoy seasonal foods

Spring is a great time to change those comfy carbs to snacks with berries, fresh or frozen fruit, and leafy greens such as spinach. Small swaps can help to boost your energy and well-being.

Gentle outdoor exercise

If you’re able to, spending a little time outside for a walk, in the garden or sitting in the fresh air can help to lift your mood; especially when the weather is pleasant. This spring, WMUK are proud to be hosting a Walk for Waldenstrom’s, bringing the community together to support well-being, connection and awareness. You can find out more information here: Walk for Waldenstrom’s – WMUK

FOR THE HOME

Declutter one small space

You do not need to tackle the whole house. A room, shelf or corner that’s decluttered and brightened with flowers, candles or scents can make a big difference.

Bring the outside in

If getting outdoors is tricky, consider adding nature indoors with house plants, herbs on a window sill or a small indoor garden; some great ideas can be found online.
