What is Bendamustine?

Bendamustine

Bendamustine is a chemotherapy drug given through a drip into your vein (intravenously). Usually it is given for two consecutive days every month (28 days to be precise) and this is called a chemotherapy cycle. This is often given in combination with a type of drug called a monoclonal antibody, known as rituximab. Bendamustine and rituximab (or BR) is a recommended regimen to treat people with WM, as studies have shown people respond well to it. You may be given up to 6 cycles which is around 6 months. However many patients receive less than this.
